April 23, 2021 Drive-In Movie Night FAQs

General Admission FAQs

Q. When is the Drive in Movie Night?
A.
Movie night will take place April 23, 2021 at London Towne Elementary School. The scheduled movie is Disney Pixar’s SOUL. Soul is rated PG and has a runtime of 1:40min.
Synopsis: After landing the gig of a lifetime, a New York jazz pianist suddenly finds himself trapped in a strange land between Earth and the afterlife.

Q. Is there any cost to attend?
A. It’s FREE! Sponsored by the London Towne PTA.

Q. How do I enter? What time should I arrive?
A. Enter the parking lot from Billingsgate Drive, just like on a school day. In order to have time to park, get your popcorn, and settle, we suggest you arrive between 7:30 and 7:50. The show starts at sunset, or roughly 8:00 p.m.

Q. What time does the movie end?
A. The movie, Soul, is about 1 hour and 40 minutes long, so it should end around 9:40 p.m. Please plan to stay for the entire movie.

Q. Will there be refreshments?
A. The PTA is providing FREE popcorn (one serving per person). You are welcome to bring any other drinks and snacks with you. Please note, alcohol is not permitted on school property. Please plan to take your trash with you when you leave.

Q. Is there a restroom available?
A. Yes, there will be a “porta-potty” (outdoor restroom) available. The school building will remain closed throughout this event.

Q. How will we watch the movie?
A. The movie will be projected onto an outdoor movie screen. The screen will be positioned next to the school building near the Kiss’n’Ride lane. You’ll be directed where to park based on how tall your vehicle is. We will sit in our vehicles, engines off, like at a drive-in. The audio for the movie will be transmitted over FM Radio, so you’ll need a radio to hear the sound. You’ll learn what station to tune to when you arrive.

Q. Can we walk-in, instead of drive-in?
A. Unfortunately, no. The COVID-19 protocols for this event require everyone to sit inside a vehicle. Only Volunteers will be allowed out of their vehicles to perform volunteer duties. All volunteers will be observing Covid-19 Protocols.

Q. Can we sit outside, like on our vehicle or in chairs?
A. No, everyone must sit inside a vehicle and chairs are not permitted. This allows us to park the vehicles closer and let more people attend the movie. Because of the spacing the use of open tops (convertibles, pick-up beds) and open tailgates (minivans, hatchbacks) are not permitted.

Q. What are the COVID-19 protocols?
A. Any time you are outside your vehicle (only allowed when visiting the restroom) you must wear a face covering or mask. Please do not visit other vehicles. Allow sufficient space for social distancing. Only Volunteers will be allowed outside of their vehicles to perform volunteer duties. All volunteers will be observing COVID-19 Protocols.

Q. How many people can I bring?
A. You may bring as many people as can ride safely in your vehicle while complying with safety and traffic laws.

Q. Is there an alternate date for weather cancellation?
A. Yes, the current rain date is scheduled for April 30 if needed.
